it was just the bug!!

hubby was down with flu and fever yesterday. it was the first time he had ever fallen sick ever since we got married and it made me so worried. he sleeps all the time, eats so little and not being his cheery self. i continuously checked on him, and his temperature while changing the wet towel on his forehead. i was restless the whole time, can’t watch tv, can’t do anything.

Alhamdulillah, by asar his fever was gone. and his appetite was back during dinner.

it was just a fever!! i need to learn to relax next time!!

  1. Salam,

One of the things a sick person need most is rest. This is something I notice from my own experience whenever I’m down or when a far flung family member is too. lol.

When the latter happens, I observe 2 things: a) kins from far away would come rushing – not to merely visit – but offer their expertise and advice on various ‘tok-nenek’ medication that would ‘guarantee’ cure. b) Friends and relatives would be pestering the family (wife especially) and the patient him/herself on how such an ailment/tragedy happened. lol.

Take scenario (a): If 100 people were to offer and force the poor fella with their medication, the patient would need to be detoxified from the mixture of so many herbs! lol,

And in scenario (b): The family members may just fall from exhaustion answering all those questions or, if the patient is on his way to recovery, he may just well fall into a relapse. lol.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not condemning the kind hearted visitors. All I’m trying to say is, we – everyone, myself included – need to remember that what any patient need most is rest and plenty of sleep to recover his/her strength. What we – as the well-meaning visitors – should do is, offer any other form of assistance the family may need, or simply say prayers for the patient.

My apologies if my comment is misconstrued.
