seafood and berbuka dishes

i found the recipe of paprik udang and sotong from maklang. so on saturday i was determined to find prawns and sotong from tesco. no sotong in tesco, so we went to jusco and i got my sotong along with cauliflower, some carrots and long beans.

i also wanted to have bihun soup for berbuka, since i was so bored of bubur and craving for something soupy. so, i looked for fishball, taugeh and sawi.

it ended up being paprik udang only cos i discovered that i poured too much prawns that putting sotong in would equal a dish for 6! that, considering only 2 ppl would eat it. maam doesnt eat seafood, which explains my cravings for udang and sotong cos i havent had them for a looong time.

the dish tasted good but the sauce is too much and covered most of the prawns that u hafta go ‘fishing’ for it. so next time i hafta budget carefully when making the sauce so that it is just nice..

the bihun soup was marvellous. i boiled chicken soup with ginger and garlic. then i added fishballs in. for the kick, chopped some daun saderi into the soup together with bawang goreng.

for the condiments, i dipped taugeh and sawi in boiling water just to cook it mildly. then i dipped the beehoon in boiling water as well, and tos everything to dry.

to serve, put beehoon, sawi, taugeh, saderi and bawang goreng into the bowl and poured in hot chicken soup. then put in a bit of sambal kicap for that spicy taste!

on sunday, i fried sotong goreng tepung and some egg tofu soup.

i had fun eating what i cooked and will definitely cook again next weekend. this time, with a different kind of soup…hehe!!

p/s: i didnt take any pictures…cos wasnt exactly in the right mood at that time. next weekend maybe…
